This requirement is separate from the NYS Manda tory Infection Control Re-Licensure requirement of every four years for de ntists and hygienists.
OSHA 29CFR Part 1910.1030 States: Personnel s ubject to Occupational Exposure should receive Infection Control Training on initial assignment\, when new tasks or procedures affect their occupati onal exposure\, and at minimum annually.
Staff are encouraged to attend and must be registered for the same course with their employers.&n bsp\; \;(If this course is a live webinar\, all must be p resent separately with your video on.)

INSTRUCTOR CURRICULUM VITAE
Peter A. Myc hajliw\, DDS
Dr. Peter Mychajliw received his D.D.S. degree from the New York University College of Dentistry with multiple clinical honors in 1987. He then completed a two year hospital based General Practi ce (Chief) Residency (LIJ Med Ctr) and subsequently entered private practi ce Dr. Mychajliw has served as General Practice Residency Program Director \, Implant Prosthodontics Section Head and Infection Control Officer at th e LIJ Medical Center (Northwell Health) for 17 years.
He has develop
ed extensive knowledge in global vision evidence based patient centered be
st practice comprehensive dental care delivery\, including dental implants
\, to challenging diverse patient profiles such as medically/physically/ p
sychologically compromised patient populations. His expertise also include
s the dental management of cardiac\, radiation oncology\, HIV\, special ne
eds patients\, chemically addicted\, among others. He continues to advocat
e for health equity and to promote diversity and inclusion in Dentistry in
institutional and private sector settings.
Dr. Mychajliw is an
active full-time NYU Dentistry faculty for over 16 years and serves dual c
linical/teaching roles as the Director of the Advanced Comprehensive Care
Elective Course Program and as an Assistant Group Practice Director.
\;He also served as Associate Director of the NYU-Langone AEGD Post Gradua
te Program- NYU College of Dentistry Campus for six years and on the NYU C
ommittee on Academic Review\, CODA teams\, NYU Alumni Board of Directors a
nd Standards and Faculty Development Commission. He currently serves on th
e NYU Faculty Council\, Executive Panel of the NYU Academy of Distinguishe
d Educators\, Humanitarian Council\, NYU Faculty Awards Committee and is a
Life active member of the ADA and the NYU Dentistry Omicron Kappa Upsilon
Omega Chapter. He also serves as permanent AGD PACE Continuing Education
Administrator for The NY Academy of Oral Rehabilitation.
Dr. Myc hajliw has served on several medical center committees including Infection Control and Quality Management and as Infection Control Officer in instit utional settings. He is currently on the Board of Directors and CE Committ ees of the Nassau County Dental Society. He also served on the of the Grea ter Long Island Dental Meeting Committee\, past NYSDA Alternate Delegate\, President of The NY Academy of Oral Rehabilitation\, and is Past Chairper son of the ADEA Clinical Simulation Section.

ral Rehabilitation and The Long Island Academy of Odontology\, Pierre Fauc

Dr. Mychajliw has lectured/mentored extensively in the areas
of dental implants\, hospital/medically complex dental rehabilitation\, g
lobal vision treatment planning and communication\, dental materials\, evi
dence based patient centered best practice protocols\, inter/intra-profess
ional collaboration\, literature analysis\, critical thinking concepts as
well as mandated Infection Control/OSHA requirements for the dental profes
sions since 1990. He has also authored several peer reviewed publications.
Dr. Mychajliw is a NYS Department of Health licensed Infection Control Trainer \;and Stop the Bleed American College of Surgeons/ US Department of Defense Homeland Security course instructor.

EDUCATION OBJECTIVES &\; GOALS
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) i s responsible for ensuring safe working conditions for all employees.
< p>In 2016\, OSHA made a major update to the MSDS/SDS (material safety data sheets/safety data sheets) labeling requirements and employee training th at required mandatory office \; compliance after June 1\, 2016\, inclu ding additional documentation requirements. \; OSHA constantly develop s new solutions and standards to protect employees from injury and illness . \; It is the responsibility of employers to stay up-to-date on any O SHA changes to remain legally compliant\, or face fines and costly claims that could lead to lawsuits. \; Dentists and their employees should up date themselves at least annually and place appropriate documentation into their office manuals.The goal of this course is to inform attendee s of the OSHA/CDC/ADA changes. \; The mandatory updates will be discus sed in detail with handouts that will help guide the practitioner\, hygien ist and staff comply with the mandate that has instituted in 2016\, and an y other changes that have occurred after that date.
Practitioners ar e encouraged to bring their staff members to facilitate compliance: \; otherwise\, practitioners must fabricate their own document acknowledg ing dissemination of this update to their staff and place such documentati on into the office manual.
If an employer brings staff\, a sepa rate employer/employee training attestation document \;(that the e mployer and staff will sign at the end of the course) will be given to the employer to place into their office manual. \; Employers and their em ployees must be present together to sign the attestation document.

EDUCATION METHODS
In order to pro vide an effective learning experience\, Dr. Mychajliw will be utilizing a slide presentation\, distributing educational materials\, will be providin g a live question and answer session and will review incidences of infecti on control non-compliance in both private and institutional settings.
