Joseph Brofsky, DMD
Dr. Joseph Brofsky is the Immediate Past President of the Nassau County Dental Society and currently the Section Head of the Pediatric Dental Department at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park. Dr Brofsky currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York State Dental Foundation. He was the Chair of the NCDS Give Kids A Smile event for thirteen years. Dr. Brofsky has presented numerous pediatric lectures over the years and has received the Edward Shills Award form the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, the Joan Allen Give Kids A Smile Award and the Coalition of Concerned Medical Professionals Distinguished Service Award.
Kathleen Schultz, DMD
Dr. Kathleen Schultz is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. She was Northwell Health's Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology as well as it's Chief Resident in Pediatric Dentistry. Currently she is an Attending in Pediatric Dental Medicine, and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Northwell. Dr. Schultz has an extensive list of publications and presentations to her name as well as several awards and honors, such as Northwell Health's Resident of the Year, Oral Pathology, Resident of the Year, Pediatric Dental Medicine, Attending of the Year, Pediatric Dental Medicine, and Teacher of the Year.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
This course will focus on introducing the participants to new and burgeoning techniques in minimally invasive dentistry as it relates to caries control in the pediatric patient. In addition it will review the various presentations of tattoos in the head and neck region. The indications of therapeutic and diagnostic tattoos in the oral and perioral regions will be discussed.
