EEOC: Employers can require COVID-19 vaccinations

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has released an expanded technical assistance guideline that says employers are not prevented from requiring that all employees physically entering the workplace get vaccinated against COVID-19, as long as they comply with reasonable accommodation provisions under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, according to ADA News. The EEOC says federal law allows employers to incentivize employees to voluntarily show proof of vaccination. The guidance comes after a February letter sent by the ADA and more than 40 organizations sought clarification regarding employer-provided incentives for vaccination.
