"Tongue Ties & Tethered Oral Tissues: What We Never Learned in Dental School

INSTRUCTOR'S CURRICULUM VITAE
Dr. Siegel received his DDS from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 1994 and his MD from Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1997 with subsequent residencies in General Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital in 1998 and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from LIJ in 2000. He is the author of numerous publications and research project involvements. He has affiliations with LIJ Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, Plainview Hospital, and Huntington Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and School of Medicine. He is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing in Huntington and NYC with an emphasis on pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery and laser surgery.

1. Definitions of ankyloglossia   2. Understanding form and function   3. Historical perspective of tongue tie education and treatment   4. Current research/evidenced based protocols  5. Impacts on orofacial and airway growth and development   6. Current guidelines for practitioners
